"AI developer" now means two different things: someone who builds AI features such as agents, chatbots and document extraction, and someone who builds any software faster by driving AI coding agents. A good hire does both, and has a process that stops AI-written code from becoming a liability. That is what you get with Atlas: one senior engineer, AI coding agents, and the guardrails between them.
What you get when you hire Atlas
- A senior engineer who owns the result. Our lead engineer scopes, specifies, reviews and ships. AI agents write most of the code; they never decide what ships.
- A written specification before code. Acceptance criteria you approve, and an interactive mockup for new products.
- Tests first. A failing test before each fix, tests before each feature, on a test database rebuilt for every run.
- Reviews that block. A code review, then a security review that stops the pull request when it finds something, then a simplification pass.
- A green CI before every merge. Lint, type checks, unit and integration tests, dependency audit, production build, browser end-to-end tests. Cancelled counts as red.
- Your code, your accounts. The code lives in your repository and the documentation lets another developer take over.

|---|---|---|
| Compliance SaaS for training providers (kaliio.fr) | In production, live payments | 222 merged pull requests, 565 test files, CI with end-to-end tests and production smoke tests, an MCP connector for Claude and ChatGPT |
| Second compliance SaaS (kaliopi.io) | In production | 143 merged pull requests, 290 test files |
| Website accessibility audit SaaS (rgaa-ia.fr) | In production | 48 merged pull requests, 384 test files, integration tests on a fresh database, smoke tests every 6 hours |
| Product-page claims checker (ficheck.fr) | In production | 20 merged pull requests in its first two and a half weeks, a 95% minimum test coverage gate |
| Internal ERP (clients, quotes, invoices, pipeline) | In daily use | Native quoting and invoicing since September 2026, fed by our AI agents |
| Debt-collection software replacing a 1990s system, for a French SME | In development, first three sprints accepted by the client | 67 merged pull requests between August 30 and October 7, 2026, 554 test files, data migration from the legacy database |
These are our own products and one client project described without its name. Figures were taken from the repositories on October 7, 2026.

How much does it cost to hire AI?
Hiring AI help costs anywhere from a monthly subscription for an off-the-shelf assistant to a full-time engineer's salary, depending on whether you buy a tool, a project or a person. For custom work, the useful comparison is the total cost of a working, maintained result, not an hourly rate.
We quote a fixed price per project, agreed after a discovery workshop, plus an optional monthly plan for maintenance. For AI agents in particular, our AI agent cost guide shows what drives the price.
How much do AI devs get paid?
AI developer pay depends on location, seniority and specialty, with engineers who can ship production AI systems earning well above general web developers. If you are deciding between hiring and outsourcing, add recruiting time, benefits and management to the salary before comparing.
What is the 30% rule for AI?
The "30% rule" is an informal rule of thumb, not a standard: it is usually taken to mean that AI can do the bulk of routine work while people keep the roughly 30% that needs judgment, review and accountability. In software, that 30% is the specification, the review and the decision to ship, and it is exactly the part we never delegate to an AI.
Good first projects
- An MVP to test a product idea, with real tests from day one. See AI MVP development.
- An internal business application that replaces spreadsheets or a tool you outgrew. See custom software.
- An AI agent that takes over a repetitive process, with human approval where it matters. See AI agent development.
Who you will work with
Atlas Software Partners is a small engineering studio based in France that works remotely with international clients. You talk to the person who writes the spec and reviews every change.
